Oatmeal Almond Butter Protein Shake

I’m so excited to add another smoothie/shake to my collection! I love this oatmeal almond butter protein shake after a hard workout, or as a quick breakfast. In my opinion, smoothies are the top quick fix when it comes to finding something filling and healthy. You can throw vegetables or vitamins in and you would never even know it! I like to add ground flax for omega 3s and Vital Proteins collagen powder for hair/skin/nail support.

I really like that this recipe can be subbed for whatever you have in your kitchen. Any vanilla protein powder, nut butter, or milk will work. I have really been enjoying the Jay Robb Egg White Protein Powder. Whey protein has always made my stomach hurt, but the egg white protein is mild in that weird protein flavor, and makes me feel great. Sometimes I’ll just mix it with water when I’m really short on time. That’s how good it tastes! Plus, the Jay Robb brand is one I can trust. Protein powders can have so much junk in them, but this egg white protein powder has no added sugars, is gluten free, and lactose free (among other things). I promise, this isn’t an ad– I really do love their products!

My oatmeal almond butter protein shake is such a delicious breakfast. It has all the flavors of a bowl of oatmeal, but is so much easier to eat on the go. It’s creamy and filling like a bowl of oats, and the cinnamon and syrup make that classic breakfast flavor. This recipe makes one really large smoothie (like almost 16 ounces of smoothie), which is more than enough for one. I’m glad this recipe makes a lot, because if I make it and don’t pour a glass for Chandler he gets so upset, ha! Whether you have it all to yourself, or share with a friend, I can guarantee this is another protein shake that will become a go-to in your house.
